Dr. Mayra Joan

Dr Mayra is carioca and in love with Rio de Janeiro. She went to medical school at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and did her first residency training, in general surgery, at the same institution, at University Hospital Clementino Fraga Filho – HUCFF/UFRJ.

She chose to specialize in plastic surgery at the National Cancer Institute – INCA/MS-RJ – where she lived and learned how to deal with extreme cases, and at the same time she felt the gratitude and recognition from several patients who had their well being and health restored through reconstructive plastic surgery.

After completing her training in plastic surgery, Dr. Mayra also specialized in cranio-maxillo-facial surgery at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics – INTO/MS-RJ.
